How's this for a first people: a product my Mum told me about and asked me to buy, all before I even knew about it....and she's not the beauty lover out of us 2!
So what is this product? It's Loréal Paris' Magic Retouch Instant Root Concealer Spray (phew, that's a mouthful!) and today I'm going to be reviewing the Dark Brown shade for you all, which is perfect for my hair colour. It also comes in Blonde, Light Brown, Brown & Black - sorry to all the red-headed beauties out there, you guys lose out. (Unless you live in the US, in which case they do sell a red version of this.) Although my Mum (whose hair I'm not featuring in this post) is currently flame in hue, she figured she'd use this shade because anything is better than walking around with grey roots, right?

I don't know about you, but I'm not a fan of winter. Even though it doesn't snow in Sydney & the lowest temperature we get down to during the daytime could be anywhere between, say, 12-19°C, I still don't like it. As for those people who say they love winter...seriously *smh* right now.

Missed the entire series? Here's Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.
Good morning folks! How was your weekend? Mine was spent mostly indoors trying to keep dry as Sydney copped another east coast low again. Thankfully it was nowhere near as bad as the one we had 2 weeks ago...phew!
As promised on Friday, I'm dedicating a separate post to wrapping up my Battle of the Curling Wands series as I felt it deserved that, rather than being shoved into the end of a rather long 3rd & final installment.

Missed Parts 1 and 2? You can catch up on them here and here.
Hi everyone & welcome to the final instalment of my 3 part series featuring the curling wands I own. As promised, this post features links to the other 2 parts and all posts in this series will or have been updated with links to the other parts, so that you can follow along easily.
As previously mentioned, for each of these posts, I'll be prepping my (freshly-washed, partly air-dried) hair using TRESemmé's Perfectly (Un)Done Wave Creating Foam before blow-drying & curling and will attempt to use the same curling method (either over or under & towards my face) throughout. I've also decided that in order to save time & perhaps prevent any personal confusion with my curling method, I'm going to use a hair styling hack I recently re-discovered - I'll scoop all my hair into a high ponytail & tie it with an elastic before curling. I've done this in the past & it works quite well.

I know it's Monday & time for a normal post, but since it's the Queen's Birthday long weekend I'm giving myself the day off. This will become a regular occurrence from now on in regards to public holidays, but nevertheless it's worth giving a heads up. I'll be back on Friday with a new post, as normal.
To all my Australian readers who have today off, hope you're having a wonderful long weekend!

Hi everyone and welcome to the 2nd of my 3-part series featuring the 3 curling wands I own. As promised, this post contains the link to part 1 and all posts in this series will or have been updated with links to the other parts once they have been published, so you can follow along easily.

You can catch up on previous editions via the Project Polish tag.
This post could also be named "My polish picks for winter", because (at risk of tooting my own horn) I think I've chosen shades that are perfect for the time of year Australia has just entered into. Whilst none of them are that special, I feel as though the last edition of my year-long Project Polish series is probably the most cohesive of them all.

So the 5th month of the year has come & gone & yet again, I'm wondering where the hell this year is going. At least now Sydney's weather is beginning to behave like late autumn/early winter. Last Saturday we reached a top of 15°C, which for Sydney is definitely winter-y. The sudden cold snap was a bit of a shock I admit!
Anyway, let's see what made me happy during Mayo:
